My Poem

This is my poem on the French Revolution

THE FRENCH REVOLUTION

Cheers cut through the silence

Like the guillotine blade

The guillotine had dropped

Because the alliance was not made

Off with their heads

The people of France said

Day after day

Hour after hour

The man-made device welcomed the French nobility

Doing its singular job

To execute

Man after man

Woman after woman

Child after child

They faced that horrible fate

Under the burnished and briery blade of the death giver

Time after time

They wiped the blade of the radical machine

Ridding themselves of the blood

That stained it
